Week 11 Blog Post

This week we are doing a lot of writing, we have to do 4 quickwrites. 2 of them are menus, yes we get to make our own restaurant menus, one of them has food that we like and the other has food we hate. the other 2 were letters to the Board Of Trustees, the first one was so we could have school holidays earlier, and the other one was telling them what kind of new teacher we would like to have when Koka Terri has her baby. 

We do our e-ako and steps like usual, and this week I have been doing lots of gaming with my friend Ben. there is new ores in Minecraft.

Week 10 Blog Post

For week 10 we have been doing our priorities as usual. This time we had to create a get well soon card for Flynn since he got hit by a car. He's really lucky he survived, I saw him on the road just after he got hit, it was horrible. We have been doing just dance like always, and are working on some pepeha art. In this weeks quick write, we have to focus more on our vocab. We had to fill our word bank with nouns and verbs for a crazy robot which had to write about.

We are doing our bubbles on Wednesday, it's a competition on who can make the biggest bubbles with their own recipe. We worked in our buzz groups and found many recipes. Jacksons was the best but then Nathan deleted his because he said that everyone liked Jackson's better and i'm guessing he got jealous. We submitted our ingredients that we need yesterday, Koka Holly said that she would get our ingredients today. I hope our bubbles turn out good.

Thanks to the Covid-19 lockdown it's already Term 2 Week 10, so that means only 2 weeks until the term ends. That means school holidays!! Also school camp for year sixes is coming up. I'm really excited about the next few weeks, I Hope you enjoyed reading my blog post.

Blog Post Week 9

This week we have been finishing of our work from last week. we have added on to our canoe quickwrite, and also made certificates for our teacher aids because it's support staff week. support staff week is when students support staff and teacher aids, they make a certificate or something I did last year was write a letter. We also had to make a blog post, and as an addition, we have to organise our google drives as well.

We are doing just dance too,  just dance is a video game for XBox, but we can watch it on youtube as well, it's these really good dancers on screen, and there is lots of colors on screen. you can't really see the actual people. It looks like they have been animated, you just try to copy what they do.

 Yesterday, we were in our buzz groups and we were planning to create giant bubbles. We saw many recipe's  but we didn't write a list of ingredients so Koka Holly couldn't get us the stuff, but now we're planning to bring our own ingredients. there is also a competition on who can make the biggest bubbles, and we're hoping everyone doesn't argue about who makes and mixes the mixture.

Covid-19 Lockdown

Covid-19 Lockdown

  

 The Covid-19 lockdown was a huge change for MLH,
it lasted for almost 2 Months! We had to do learning from home after 3 weeks of only holiday and fun.
to be honest I did prefer school learning over lockdown learning, because at home,
there are just too many other things to do other than schoolwork,
like play video games, ride your bike or just jump on the trampoline.
Lockdown Learning did have some good things, like whenever I wanted to,
I could grab a snack,
or I could have breaks or play games whenever I wanted to.

As you probably already know, the lockdown started because of Covid-19/ Coronavirus 2019.
The deadly disease started in China and spread rapidly across the globe.
The first week of home learning had the topic of ANZAC day,
Then we had the topic of animal kingdom, then world famous and then finally story time,
after that we came back to school.
Coming back to school was fun because I got to see all my friends , but even in lockdown
I played minecraft with my friend Ben.

I really liked learning from home but being back at school is so much better,
  so that was my writing for the coronavirus lockdown.

Enterprise Swimming 2020

Ready, set, go!! I was  swimming as fast I possibly could, my heart pounding, this was only my first race and it was my freestyle race. I went zooming overtaking Anaraux and Ben, then I don't know if I overtook Tristin or not, I think he beat me. While I was munching away at my food, I heard my name being called out, I soon figured out that Koka Ngaire was calling out my name for the next race, I quickly packed away my food and rushed to the racing lines.

 I waited for so long but finally it was my turn, I was aiming for at least not a last placing, which I normally got in enterprise swimming. I was so nervous, but also very excited to race against my friends. Once again I was waiting for Koka Rosie to blow in the whistle, this was my favorite stroke, breaststroke, I heard Koka Sophia shouting out "ready, set, go!!

 This time this was my last and final race and I gave my all I overtook Ben and then overtook Anaroux and then I Still don't know if I over took Tristin or not, I ended, I bet I would have overtook Tristin if I did more swimming practice, I said to myself, that was the end of my swimming, comment how well you think I did.

First Week of School 2020

The first week of school was pretty jam packed with excitement and fun, first thing we ever did in our new classes in 2020 was meet our teachers, I think that my teacher this year is terrific, also we have a  new timetable we do reading after morning tea and lunch, then we do things  like our  collaborative art.

The only collaborative art peace we have done so far is our bird art, it has three birds in it and it looks really, really cool. The next thing we started is our Waitangi day booklet, it has so much information about Waitangi day and it so many fun things to do like, draw the meeting house or answer why you thing that people feel weird talking about Waitangi day, if you have any facts about Waitangi day, you can write them down in the comments.

We also made our buzz groups by this cool animal quiz, we each had a peace of paper and they had a word or and animal name, we had to find out what words are related to each other in some sort of way, when you find someone with a related word, they are in your buzz group. it was really fun and I do lots of activities with by buzz group to Get better at teamwork, that's all i did in my first week of school, comment below if you think it was a good first week.
